Q: Tell me about your training.
Claire has been actively learning drawing and painting techniques since the use of her opposable thumbs kicked in. She spent a LOT of time doodling and drawing celebrities from magazines and when she entered high school, she finally took some art classes. Claire found that she had a knack for easily learning new art techniques, so by the age of 16 decided she would major in art and that it was the only career path for her. She took a few years off from school, and when she finally decided to return, she did so with gusto! She took as many art classes that would possibly fit into her schedule at Las Positas Community College. Mainly she trained in graphite, colored pencil, acrylic, a bit of oil, charcoal, tempura, pastel, but never watercolors. She sort of fell into that while using ink to paint one of her fairies. In the past she had been afraid of watercolors in every way. Once she started with watercolors, she never looked back. She finally took a semester of Intro to Watercolors in 2011 and learned some invaluable techniques. She is currently enrolled at San Francisco State University, but is taking time with general ed classes. Besides formal training, Claire spends a lot of free time studying the works of Amy Brown, Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, Brian Froud, and many other artists. She never gives up an opportunity to learn new ways to improve her art.

However please keep in mind that Claire will only paint as often as her schedule permits and may not be able to paint your request for a while, but she will keep your suggestions in mind and try to have some available in the future for her fans.
Q: Do you have a book out of all your art?
A: No. Unfortunately Claire does not currently have the means or time to produce a book right now. Hopefully in the future she will.
Q: I have an idea for a book, would you illustrate it for me?
